About Kylie
I have always been passionate about health and wellness.
In pursuit of my passion for physical wellness I completed my Diploma in Fitness and Health Promotion from Conestoga College. My interest in spiritual health lead me to complete both a Bachelors of Religious Education in Christian Education & Counselling studies from Emmanuel Bible College and a Leadership Certificate from Summit Pacific College. The capstone project for that program involved a six-week mission caring for both the spiritual and physical needs of people in the slums of Bangkok Thailand.
With education and experience in physical and spiritual health I knew that the missing piece was a deeper understanding of mental health. I pursued and completed my Masters of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. I have continued to grow my understanding of mental health through additional post graduate training, my work with By Peaceful Waters and volunteer work with individuals who have experienced trauma.
It has been my experience that all parts of a person need to be healthy for them to feel fulfilled and empowered. I am pleased to be able to aid the whole person as a Registered Psychotherapist.
My Therapeutic Approach
I believe that all individuals have unique strength within them. My therapeutic approach seeks to encourage that strength by building resiliency and self-confidence. I take a trauma-informed approach to all clients, seeking to respect and understand any trauma that clients have experienced.
I am trained in a wide variety of additional evidence based psychotherapies and I combine techniques from these approaches to provide care that contributes to the overall health and wellness of clients. We will work together to equip you with resources to cope, and process presenting problems to empower change.
“Online Therapy allows us to create a safe, convenient and meaningful therapeutic relationship, custom tailored to your unique needs & strengths.”
